Here at Newsome Farm, we strive to provide the best quality care for our farm and animals that will make a pleasant boarding experience for both horse and owner. We have been offering a boarding facility for over 20 years and have a combined education and knowledge of over 50 years to provide a knowledgeable facility.
Newsome Farm offers pasture horse boarding at an affordable price of $200 per month per horse. We do not allow studs or draft breeds.
Amenities included are pastures that are rotationally grazed and co-grazed with cattle to help manage grazing patterns and promote efficient use of forages. Pastures are managed for soil properties as well as forage quality and species present. Soil testing is used to ensure that the appropriate nutrients are provided to produce a nutritious form of forage for all animals on the farm.
All of the hay that is fed has been grown and harvested by the Newsome family to ensure a quality product with the desired forages. Hay is fed in dry locations and pastures contain hay feeding sheds that provide protection from the elements for the hay and horses, while also keeping the hay off of the ground.
For those beautiful, sunny days that are perfect for a longer ride, you can trailer your horses and travel a short distance from our farm to the Sauratown Trails, which is a 35 mile long trail that connects Hanging Rock State Park with Pilot Mountain State Park. If you would rather only ride a short distance, you can explore the 100-acre farm on horseback.
Additional facilities include a tack room, round pen, and stalls for temporary containment. You will find more information about our facilities in the Facilities tab
